Collaborations & Opportunities
Transboundary Cooperation in Practice
TRANSMIT brings together academic institutions, practitioners, and community stakeholders across Germany, Nepal, and India to address shared challenges in mountain forest systems. Operating in a transboundary context, the project integrates scientific research with stakeholder engagement and cross-border collaboration.
This is achieved through:
- Joint data collection and harmonised methodologies across both countries
- Collaborative scenario development and risk analysis
- Engagement with stakeholders at local, regional, and national levels
- Cross-border exchange through trainings, workshops, and study visits
- Integration of community-based governance systems, including Community Forest User Groups and Van Panchayats
