Which language certificates should I provide for admission to the Master programs?

Note: Applicants for M.Sc. Biodiversity: Ecology, Evolution and Conservation please check the language requirements for MSc BEEC.
Applicants whose native language is not English must show very good English language skills. Very good knowledge of English must be demonstrated with standardised or accredited certificates at least at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe (CEFR). The following in particular serve as proof:
a) UNIcert®: min. certificate UNIcert® III;
b) NULTE certificate: min. level C1;
c) Cambridge English Scale: min. 180 points;
d) International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic): min. band 6.5;
e) Test of English as a Foreign Language, internet-based test (TOEFL iBT): min. 95 points;
f) Global Scale of English (Pearson Academic): min. 76 points;
g) further accredited or standardised certificates can also be recognised after establishment of equivalence.
Successful completion of the test (a-f) may, as a rule, be no longer than six years before submission of the application for admission to the master degree programme. At least two years of residence in an English-speaking country for the purpose of study or work within three years prior to submission of the application for admission, or successful degree earned in a degree programme in the English language lasting at least two years, also constitute proof of very good English language proficiency.
Language requirements German
Note: not required for MSc "Computational Biology and Bioinformatics".
Applicants who are not native German speaker nor have a German degree should provide a proof of proficiency in German which may be
- Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerberinnen und Studienbewerber (DSH) level 1
- „Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache“ (TestDaF) level TDN-3
or equivalent tests.
